Cumberland Pharmaceuticals is a specialty pharmaceutical company whose mission is to acquire currently marketed and late-stage development pharmaceutical products and grow them through marketing to targeted, underserved physician segments. Cumberland is dedicated to providing high quality products which address unmet medical needs.

Product candidates undergo a highly structured evaluation, considering a variety of key financial, market, operational and legal factors. Products which demonstrate safety and efficacy as well as competitive advantage represent ideal candidates.

Financing of both product acquisitions and corporate operations is structured to provide balance for growth.

Targeted Marketing

Cumberland focuses on a few underserved, niche markets including critical care, emergency medicine and gastroenterology. Within these markets, the Company seeks to acquire and develop complementary products which address unmet medical needs. Products with demonstrated safety and efficacy profiles as well as brand recognition generally allow for rapid penetration of a market segment, creating greater sales efficiency with each introduction.

Long-Term Product Pipeline

In order to maximize value and sustainability, Cumberland established access to a pipeline of new products by forming Cumberland Emerging Technologies, Inc. (CET), a joint initiative with Vanderbilt University and the Tennessee Technology Development Corporation. CET provides assistance to universities, hospitals and other research organizations and entrepreneurs in bringing biomedical technologies to the marketplace. CET allows Cumberland Pharmaceuticals to access newly developed products while avoiding excessive R&D risk and expense.
